I’ve collected a fair number of historical novels, most of which I don’t have room for on my bookshelves. I hate to part with them, but I’ll happily give them away to a good home. With that in mind, I’ve come up with a bit of a challenge for myself and I hope you’ll help me out.

I don’t send out many author newsletters–no more than once a month, and usually more like one a season–but it’s the best way that I can keep in touch with readers and offer them special sneak peeks and other historical tidbits. I like to present historical trivia about feminism in the ancient world and other little explored topics. If you’ve ever enjoyed my author newsletter, I hope that you’ll subscribe and spread the word to others via Facebook, Twitter or your blog.

To win, you must post a link to where you’ve spread the word in the comments below.

When I get fifty new subscribers to my newsletter (starting today), I’ll go through the comments to this blog entry and pick a winner. You get an extra entry in the drawing for each place that you encourage others to join the newsletter, but multiple entries on the same site don’t count. (Ie. If you post to Twitter 20 times, it still only counts once.)

Given my history with such giveaways, your chances of winning are pretty good 😛

    Just bumped me around. The car estimate is about $600 (got that number today). We’ll see how fast they get things resolved. I’m not nearly as upset as I was the other day. Can’t catch a break, can I? BTW, I love those nuts too. I may make them a staple for the meetings. I found them at one of our local grocery stores. I’ll send you the name in an email.

    Basically, I’ve always had a fascination with Egypt. It goes so far back that I can’t even remember not liking it at any time.
    
    My mom has an anecdote about me when I was either 4 or 5. We were watching something on The History Channel about Ancient Egypt, and I apparently pulled on her pants leg and said something to the effect of “but mom, why aren’t they talking about the ID cards?” Well, I’m working (very slowly) on a historical fiction piece, and in my research, I discovered that ancient Egyptians DID carry ID cards!

        From what I remember, Egyptians carried cards that showed their social status, jobs, and family status. Unfortunately, it’s been a while since I looked at the book that told me this, so I’m not 100% on the details any longer.
