As Song of the Nile is due to release in October, my time will be spent in the next few months setting up the promotional effort that will go into letting people know that the book exists. Part of this includes sending bookmarks to bookstores. I’ve never been very keen on author bookmarks, but readers do ask for them and they are often the only chance you’ll have at telling people about your book. So, without further ado, here is my draft for bookmarks for Song of the Nile. I’m not a graphic designer, so any input is welcome. I feel like I’m leaving some vital information off!
I love it. Selene looks so regal. She looks so much more divine that in The Lily of the Nile. You can tell she is growing in her divinity and powers. And the purple! WOW!
And I love your “i” dot in your name!
Perfection!!!
Thanks Allison! I really wanted to emphasize the purple because it’s going to be important in the book. The actual versions are clearer, text wise, than these images, but I keep thinking that I forgot to put something on there. Am awaiting the verdict of my sister, the graphic designer. She usually rips things apart 😛
That’s what sisters are there for. To rip things to shreds and then put them back in their right place. I’m so excited!!!
Ooo, I really like the bookmarks. I’m already excited about the book but if I didn’t know about the book, I think the bookmark would probably get me interested in the book.
That’s what I like to hear, Meg!
The bookmark is amazing!!! Selene looks fantastic and I agree with Meg , if i never heard of the book before these bookmarks would definitely stand out and more than likely make me want to check the book out 😀
I’m glad to hear it, Iyana! I’ll send them and trading cards to readers who send me a self-addressed, stamped envelope 😉
Oh I want one too! I’m sending you an email!
OMG that would be awesome! What address do we send the envelopes to?
Email me privately and I’ll send you the address! (Don’t want to put it out on the blogosphere.)
so i should just send the message to the address under the contact tab on your website or direct message on twitter?
Either one 😉
😀 twitter 😀
Yes I would love to have one to send one via email please
I’m not sure how to send you a bookmark in email…
